Masterpiece Contemporary: Investing in Today’s Art

Robert Heffel will be conducting a charity auction on March 2, 2011 in support of The Art Gallery of Calgary.

Mark your calendars, get your bidding paddles ready and prepare an empty wall for the perfect piece of art to illustrate your support for the arts in Calgary! The Art Gallery of Calgary proudly hosts its 3rd annual charity art auction Masterpiece Contemporary: Investing in Today’s Art on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 6:00 to 10:00pm. This exclusive event showcases fine art by exceptional artists who have generously donated their work to be auctioned off with proceeds funding The Art Gallery of Calgary’s art education (K-12) programs. The Art Gallery of Calgary has procured the services of Robert Heffel of Heffel Fine Art Auction House, a well-known auctioneer who will present fine art for bidding at this formal, seated affair. Professionally curated for all tastes and stylistic inclinations by Chief Curator Kayleigh Hall, Masterpiece Contemporary offers a variety of work for diverse art connoisseurs and collectors.

Can you think of a more worthwhile way of supporting our local arts community and schools than by contributing to The Art Gallery of Calgary’s in-house Enmax Gallery School and outreach programs? With dynamic programs aimed at youth from kindergarten to grade 12, our talented programmers provide instruction geared to the school curriculum and artwork currently on exhibit in The Gallery space, promoting an understanding and exploration of contemporary art.
